HAF Programme

The Department for Education’s (DfE) Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) is back this Easter, running from 7th - 25th April 2025.  Children aged 4 - 16 who are eligible for free school meals, can access a range of free activities including baking and cooking, arts and crafts, sports, music and more. All sessions can be booked via www.salford.gov.uk/HAF and include lunch.

 

The HAF programme  are also able to offer a limited number of places to children not on free school meals, as long as the child meets any of the criteria below, they can also book on the activities.

 

Eligibility criteria:

  • assessed by the local authority as being in need, at risk or vulnerable
  • young carers
  • looked-after children or previously looked after children
  • children with an EHC plan (education, health and care)
  • children with special educational needs and/or disabilities who are not eligible for free school meals
  • children who have low attendance rates at school or who are at risk of exclusion
