Lego Therapy
Lego-based therapy (LeGoff et al 2014) is an evidence based approach that aims to develop social communication skills in autistic children, such as sharing, turn-taking, following rules, using names and problem solving.
At New Park, pupils are recommended for Lego therapy through SALT.(Speech and Language) They have targets to meet and this is implemented in the Lego sessions. This helps to develop an understanding and use of topic based vocabulary. Pupils are able to identify strategies that help support their learning.
