Coronavirus Concerns and Update

At New Park Academy, we take the health and safety of our pupils and staff very seriously. We are continuing to follow DfE and Public Health England (PHE) advice. There is currently no cause for concern at the school, but we will keep you informed about any developments and can assure you that we are keeping the school clean to prevent the spread of any virus.

  1. Preventing the Spread of Infection

Please ensure you and your children follow these general principles to prevent the spread of any respiratory virus:

  • Wash your hands often - with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based sanitiser if soap and water are not available
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • If you feel unwell, stay at home and do not attend work or school
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home
  • If you are worried about your symptoms, please call NHS 111 – do not go directly to your GP or other healthcare provider

3.     Department for Education Coronavirus Helpline

The Department for Education coronavirus helpline is now available to answer questions about COVID-19 relating to education and children’s social care. Staff, parents and young people can contact this helpline as follows:

         Phone:                      0800 046 8687

         Email:                      DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk

Opening Hours:        8.00am to 6.00pm (Monday to Friday)

We are aware that this is a changing situation and we will continue to follow the official advice. We will keep parents informed via email, text, letter and by updating information on the school website as required.

Yours sincerely
