Starting at New Park 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

In this section, we aim to provide you with all the information you will need to ensure your child's transition to our provision goes as smoothly as possible.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact school on 921-2000 and staff will be happy to help you.

Transition Dates

Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 pandemic we are unable to offer our usual transition days for year 6 students.  However, if you wish to come and have a look around the school in person, please contact the school on the number above and we will book in a time. In the meantime you could enjoy our school tour videos to give you an insight to the building and some of our current students.

Transport to and from School

If you would like to apply for transport for your child with Salford please click on the link below for details:-

School Dinners

If you are not eligible for free school meals, the cost for dinners for the 2020/2021 school year is £13.85 per week (£2.77 per day).  This can be paid in at the school office with cash or cheque by your child or if you would prefer to pay for a full term in advance, please contact Dawn in the office on 921 2000 to discuss your options. Any dinners which are missed, (for example if your child is off sick, will be carried forward).

If you are unsure about your eligibility for free school meals, please visit the website below for further information.

The School Day

When your child arrives at school, they should enter by the dining hall entrance where they will be met by staff from 08.15 (dependent upon taxi arrival).  There are various classrooms open and staffed where your child can get a hot drink and toast or cereal.  Lessons start at 09.00 a.m.  Your child will be supervised during any unstructured times (break/dinner) and will be escorted to the dining hall at the end of the day (14.35 p.m.) by staff.

Uniform

All students will be issued with a polo shirt and jumper from school before their start date, but should you wish to purchase more items this can be done via the school office (telephone or e mail) and cost £5 per item.

In KS3 students wear Royal Polo Shirts available in 9yr - Small Mens and Sweatshirts 11yrs - Small Mens

Then as they enter KS4 a Navy Polo shirts and Black Fleeces are available in 12yrs - Large Mens.

Both Key stages are able to wear dark colour trousers and comfortable footwear of their choosing (jogging pants are accepted), but please be aware that school will not be liable for any damage or loss, so we would not recommend expensive designer labels.
