Bee in the City - 'Beelieve and Succeed'
Bee In the City
Taking place this Summer from July to September is 'Bee in the City' organised by Wild in Art and supported by Manchester City Council and the Lord Mayor of Manchester's - We Love MCR Charity.
The free event will see over 80 giant 3D honey bee sculptures dotted across the city, to be part of the Bee in the City art trail. These 3D sculptures will be decorated by schools, professionals and emerging artists from the region.
The name of New Park's 3D bee is 'Beelieve and Succeed' our school motto. The motto was produced by staff and pupils of New Park (SEMH). The pupils are from diverse backgrounds with different needs but all the school community can identify that if we Believe, we can Succeed. Every pupil can believe and succeed in their dreams if they grasp the opportunities and work hard. New Park staff and pupils are decorating 'hands' with all the things that are important to them and will be attached our bee.
The worker bee has been a symbol of Manchester since the Industrial Revolution but following the horrific events of May 2017 when the Manchester Arena was bombed it gained popularity as a public symbol of unity against terrorism.
